Our Process

You have looked at our Galleries, been referred by your friend and you are excited about having your senior portraits taken  ! Now what?

Book Your Session

In order to book your session, please contact the office by phone or email to pick a date. Have your credit card ready, only a paid retainer reserves your spot. Even if you are not planning to do your  senior portrait session for six months, it is good to book your senior pictures as soon as you know you would like Ayers Photography and Design to do your portraits.  This is for a couple of reasons; when you book your session and place your deposit, we will send a current price list. Your paid deposit will lock you in to that price list should rates go up, and will be valid for two weeks following your ordering session. In addition, I will keep track of how many sessions I have during a certain period, so to not overbook. You can book a specific date now, or you can book a general time and we can firm up the plan as the date nears.  Don't forget about your yearbook photo. We can work with you to get that submitted.

Consultation

This is an important part of your Senior Portrait Experience! In order to provide you with the best portrait experience, deciding ahead of time what you might want from your session allows us to plan your session better and maximize your shooting time. it is helpful for us to know your sense of style, personality, likes, dislikes, activities and ideas. This can take place in person or over the phone.
Prior to our consultation, we ask you to complete a Senior Introduction form.  This will provide information about you to help create your session.

During our consultation, we will discuss the information you have provided. This will help to create your individualized session!  Some seniors have a definitive idea of what they want from their session; others would like some guidance! Don’t worry, that is what the consultation is all about! During this time, we will develop a game plan for your session. If we need to make arrangements for the use of a facility, we will discuss those plans at this time as well.

Your Senior Portrait Session

It’s the BIG DAY! Make sure you are well rested, well hydrated and ready for fun. Remember to bring the items that define YOU! Several outfits to choose from, accessories to match your outfit, matching socks and shoes, (for the ladies; bras that work well under your chosen outfits.) Bring any props along as well. You may make quick hair changes during your session, but if you plan on a different style, it may be necessary to schedule an add-on session for a different day.

Ordering appointment

We will schedule your in person ordering session approximately one week after your session portrait session. This is where you willl come to our office and view the photos for the first time, side by side, pick your favorites, eliminate the images you don't care for, and order your package prints.  It is important that all decision makers be present at that time.

The ordering appointment is free of charge and will be scheduled for 1 hour.  If you need additional ordering appointments or you could not make it to your original ordering appointment without providing 24 hours notice, these can be scheduled for $50

Pick up appointment

Your prints are usually ready for you to pick up two and a half weeks after your ordering appointment.  I will call you when they arrive and we can schedule an appointment for you to pick up your senior photos. This appointment is an opportunity to see your prints before you bring them home and usually takes no more than 15 minutes.
